Activities

I enjoy motorsports of all kinds. These days it is mostly quads, going to the dunes is generally a major highlight of every year that passes by. Snowmobiling is fun, I just don’t have the gall to do what the really amazing riders do (this is the only thing I’ll give in to the fact that my dad is better than me at).

Camping, swimming, four wheeling and fishing are all things I find to be very relaxing. Getting outside is a nice change to the way I spent my middle school years (read: on the internet).

Racquet sports are also another way I like to pass my time, racquetball and tennis in particular. I’m fairly decent at tennis which is amazing considering I initially signed up for the tennis team in high school thinking it would just be an easy sport.

Interests

Political Theory
For some reason I’ve always enjoyed arguing about politics and estimating the reasoning behind the thinking of others. This is by a long shot, in my opinion, the worst and most annoying of all my interests. I once spent close to two hours in the Gorge at the Warped Tour arguing with members of the Alkaline Trio about the mindless group-think mentality of Bush-Bashing. Hours later I actually feel we both had a deeper understanding of the true reasons behind our beliefs, and it turned out to be pretty awesome. As a result though I missed two hours of a concert I’d paid to see because I got baited into a political conversation. I’m easily brought into these discussions, and it is quite hard to pull me out; as much as I hate it, I love it.

Poker
Probability math. Ratios, percentages, odds. Leaning on someone to make them think a certain way, or make them think you’re trying to make them think a certain way. Poker is politics with percentages, and I absolutely love it.

Unce Unce
If I was a little more artistic, I think I would be a producer. I enjoy the math and electronics behind a beat and a hook. As bad a rap as a lot of electronic music gets, I like a lot of it for what sits behind the sound.

Racquet Sports and Gym
Tennis is my nirvana. A blistering hot day on the court can focus me like nothing else in this world. Lifting actually relaxes me. I wish I had started back when I was 16, but sadly I did not and all I can do about it is make up for it now. Bag work/shadowboxing is where I let frustration out. My form is horrid, my balance is awful, my hooks are brutal and it clears my head.

Computers
I love computers. I also HATE computers. I used to find computers entertaining and exciting, but the more they become part of forced daily life the more I resent them and ever being good with them. Living in the woods in Montana is becoming more and more appealing each day because of it.
