Washington State University Department of English Digital Technology and Culture Instructor (Internship) August 2008 - December 2008 Developed and instructed a web design oriented class for students of Washington State University. The focus of this class centered on web interfacing and applications, from hand coding to final publishing. The course also instructed students on managing personal web space and online directories. Specific instruction included HTML, Adobe Photoshop, FTP Interfacing, and design principles, as well as other helpful programs throughout the semester. Student Computing Services Training Instructor September 2003 – May 2005 Instructed classes for students, faculty, and staff of Washington State University. Classes included Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite, iMovie, Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and others. These classes could also extend to a one on one session if the student preferred more assistance, or a more private setting in which to ask questions. Student Computing Services Helpdesk and Center for Undergraduate Education Lab Lead May 2005 – December 2005 Responsible for the day to day operations of both the IT Helpdesk and the Center for Undergraduate Education Lab, the flagship SCS lab on the WSU campus. Tasks included hiring, scheduling, equipment management, maintaining relationships with various Information Technology departments, payroll, and budgeting. Office of Undergraduate Education Communications and Marketing Assistant January 2009 - April 2009 Responsible for the development of web and print interfaces for media used internally by Washington State University staff and externally by students and donors. Managed multiple website transitions via Content Management System. Helped develop and launch the first ever issue of “Excellence,” the WSU Honors College electronic newsletter. Global Gaming League Community Manager and Product Developer (Internship) August 2007 – December 2007 Community Manager in charge of leading and promoting individual user communities on GGL, as well as helping launch and test new builds and interfaces of the site. Student Support Services Information Technologies Tutor January 2006 – June 2006 Tutored students in advanced Microsoft Word techniques, as well as other IT classes they required assistance in. Some of these students also had learning disabilities, which offered new challenges to the tutoring process. Washington X-Ray, Inc. Digital Support and Sales X-Ray Processor Service Technician January 2003 – Present Serviced and maintained X-Ray processors on location for chiropractors and medical clinics throughout the greater Puget Sound area. Also designed, developed, created and managed the new company web platform. |
